Some Light in the Shabby House!

I would have liked a chandelier in the shabby house but discovered they were way too expensive so I set about making my own light fitting. The main wire frame I used was part of an old Christmas decoration. I made the leaves for the roses and twined them around the frame. There are three little china roses on it and the rest are paper rosebuds. The colours go perfectly with the shabby rose picture that Linda made me.

And look at that, it even lights up! I've just used one bulb at the bottom as the room didn't need any more light than that. It looks so good in the dark. Oh, and I've added some beams to the ceiling too, things are moving along!

I have been the lucky recipient of another wonderfully stitched gift from Sandi in Canada. You may remember Sandi made me the petit point slippers. This time she has stitched me the sweetest petit point tea cosy. How perfectly shabby is that, I am a very lucky girl!
Thank you Sandi!

  7. Your ability to make lovely things from found objects just amazes me. It's one of the reasons I enjoy following your blog.

I don't have much money to spend on minis right now, and your ideas inspire me to think that I can do something original with what I already have, instead of just wishing for the stuff I can't afford.

Your one of a kind projects are a delight.

    mini hugs from California,
    Kate

You've also inspired me to learn how to blog!

  17. Hello Mercedes
The chandelier is so lovely and
pretty much in the same style as
the candlestick I bought at the
    Stockholm fair! I think that´s
amazing, as we come from different
    parts of the world!

  18. As we say in Denmark. The little lamp is just the dot on the i. Meaning it is just the missing part for perfection.
